Although System 7.0 allows you to create your own icons for documents and folders without using ResEdit, most users of 7.0 still treat customizing icons like it is an activity strictly limited to power-users, nerds, etc.
Even many power-users play with the idea a little bit, and then settle back and use the old icons they are used to seeing.
However, customizing icons, especially folders, can be a great productivity enhancer. For those of us who still use the "By Icon" view on many of our windows, often you find yourself having to click your eyeballs across several folders before you find the one you need.
By customizing icons, you make files readily, visually recognizable, eliminating the time you spend staring at the screen looking. (After all, that's what we bought the Mac for in the first place, right?)
IKON VII 1.0 is a starter kit to help you make your files more readily recognizable. It includes many suggested designs, and a toolkit to begin customizing your own. Each icon in this collection is designed to be visually distinct. Notice that each one grabs the eye in its own way.
IKON VII 1.0 is FREE. If you take the time to send us EMAIL or a postcard to register, we will send you IKON VII 2.0 (now in works) for free, as well as demos of other Golden Eagle software and templates.
IF YOU WANT ANOTHER FORMAT (Aside from MacPaint/SuperPaint) let us know! We will supply IKON VII 1.0 in any common Mac software format. Contact us for details!
